GENERAL RULES
- Management
& race director reserves the right to reject or allow the entry of any
car and/or driver.
- Management
or race director reserves the right to refuse entry into the pit area to
anyone.
- Drivers,
owners, and/or crew members have no claims against management or any
official due to disqualification or damage to drivers or equipment
resulting in an altercation arising from unsportsmanlike conduct on behalf
of drivers, owners, and/or crew members.
- No intoxicating beverages, narcotics, or
illegal substances are to be consumed and/or used by anyone in the pit
area.
- Alcoholic
beverages will not be sold to anyone wearing an armband for pit area.
- Verbal,
physical abuse and/or racial remarks to any official or
entrant on premises is strictly prohibited, and will subject offender(s)
to possible suspension and definite ejection.
- Whenever it is deemed dangerous, unsafe,
or unjustified to continue any racing event, it may be stopped at any
point by the discretion of the race director.
- All
decisions of scoring judges and officials are final.
- The press box is off limits to all
participants at all times unless permission is given by the race
director.
- No driver or crew member shall
interfere with the flagman at any time.
- All
engines will be shut off during the National
Anthem and participants are asked to remove their hats and face our
flag.
- Before entering any race
competition, drivers must have a completed registration form and an IRS
form W-9 (filled out and returned to management). Copies on request. Must
have a W-9 on file before payment of prize money.
- All
pit entrants must sign a voluntary waiver and release from liability and
indemnity agreement, and pay for and receive an authorized pit pass.
- Make absolutely sure you keep your
authorized pit pass. In the event of a rainout, the pit pass is the only
means by which you will be allowed admittance on the rescheduled date.
(Your signature on the pit sheets, or “don’t you remember me?” is not
acceptable to gain re-admittance!) Do Not Ask!
- Anyone
caught illegally entering pits and cannot produce an authorized pit pass
will be immediately rejected from the track. (Management reserves the right to ask for proof of admission
at any time.)
- A
rainout will be declared when not more than one half of the first feature
event has been completed. After
that point, no rain checks will be issued. any feature with ½ + laps
completed will be paid according to the way they are running when rained
out. All other cars with starting position
in feature event in all other classes will receive starting money.
- Pay-off Procedure: Only owners
and/or drivers may pick up prize monies. Be prepared to show proper ID if
asked. This is to make sure that the right parties receive what is due to
them. A protest as to finishing positions must be
presented to the Pay Off Official within five (5) minutes after race
results are posted. Race results
will be posted as soon as possible after each race. Race results will be posted for five
(5) minutes before any prize money is awarded. Prize money left unclaimed
over 30 days will become the property of Bluegrass Speedway.
- Pit
stewards must be notified of any driver changes made. Car must start on the tail.
- Drivers
of Late Models or Open Wheel cars WILL
NOT be allowed to drive in any Sportsman or Street Car event. No
driver is to drive more than one (1) car per night in the race. Driver may
hot lap or practice 2 or more cars if ready when called up.
- All
divisions are expected to comply with a 96 dB noise level (measured at 100
feet from car) at competition speed. Failure to comply with this
requirement may cause you to be disqualified from the event.
- Rule
changes and/or additions will be posted immediately, as soon as they
become available.
- Shoes
and shirts are required to be worn in the pit area at all times.
- A
participant suspended or ejected from competing or attending the
Bluegrass Speedway will be suspended for one (1) race event. Within the
next (3) days the racing director and management personnel will meet and
decide if additional suspension is necessary, the participant will be
notified by certified letter.
- A participant
is any person taking part in any form
- An event
is a night of racing
ON TRACK RULES
- No two
way radios.
- No one
under the age of sixteen (16) shall be permitted on the track and/or
infield area during races, hot laps and/or time trials.
- The only people allowed on the race
track and infield area are race officials. Everyone must stay off the track at all times unless
requested by an official to assist for some special reason.
- Working
on cars on the track is prohibited.
- Drivers
must remain in their cars after a crash and remain buckled up until the
field slows down.
- Any
driver getting out of the car is finished for that race.
- Pit
crew, car owners, and personnel in the pit are not allowed on the track
following an accident or injury.
Drivers are responsible for his/her pit crew.
- No person will be permitted to ride on
the outside of a racecar at anytime.
- Race
director reserves the right to move the front row after TWO (2) false starts.
- Anything
dragging or hanging on a car that is determined unsafe will result in that
car being black-flagged. This car will be allowed back onto the track
after repairs are made.
- Any
car entering the racetrack from any location other than the posted gate,
will be penalized one (1) lap. THERE IS ONLY ONE GATE TO WHICH YOU
ARE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE TRACK
- Any
car causing a situation that brings out the yellow or red flag will
automatically go to the tail.
Note: if you are involved in an accident that only slows you or if
you do not make contact with the vehicles involved, you regain your
position. If it is deemed that you
intentionally caused a wreck, you will be sent to the pits.
- Any
car spinning that brings out the yellow flag more than two times during
any one race will be black-flagged. This means spinning due to driver
control; not to avoid a wreck.
FLAG RULES
Green Flag: (Green light) Racing is underway on
the entire track. Anyone advancing
position(s) prior to the green flag is subject to being black flagged. All cars must make one complete lap for an
official start.
Yellow Flag: (Yellow light) Means caution. There is no racing back to the start finish
line. Cars will line up according to
last completed lap. Any car not
maintaining a slow and cautious speed is subject to being black flagged or
disqualification.
White Flag: One lap to go!
Black Flag: Driver must go to the pits for consultation
with a Race Official. If the driver ignores the black flag for two laps the car will be dropped
from scoring.
Red Flag: Stop regardless of position on track, and do not
proceed unless and until an official authorizes you to move your car.

The rules set
forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing
events and to
establish minimum acceptable requirements of such events. These rules
shall govern
the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all
participants
are deemed to have complied with these rules.
NO EXPRESSED OR
IMPLIED WARRANTY OR SAFETY SHALL RESULT
FROM
PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE
RULES. They are
intended as a
guide for the conduct of the sport and in no way guarantee against
injury or
death to a participant, spectator or official.
The race
director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviations
from any of
the specifications herein or impose and further restrictions that in his
opinion do not
alter the minimum acceptable requirements.
NO EXPRESSED OR
IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULTFROM
SUCH
ALTERATION OF SPECIFCATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these
rules is left
to the discretion of the officials. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.
