Bluegrass Speedway Announces 2009 Division Tire Rules
Bardstown, KY-April 2, 2009-
Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell would like to take
the opportunity to inform the racers of the area of the Bluegrass Speedway
track tire rules for the upcoming 2009 racing season. These rules apply to all weekly racing series program and all
non-sanctioned track events.
In the Super Late Model
division, the tire rules will be as follows for 2009:
-Hoosier Tires Only: Front Tire Rule- any compound 11 x 92 Hoosier Tire; Rear Tire Rule- Hoosier LM20, 1300, 1350, LM40, 1600 and D55 (Shoulder Plated) are the only compounds that are eligible for competition. The soft compounds (LM20, 1300) must durometer 40 prior to competition, while the hard compounds (LM40, 1600, D55) must durometer 60 prior to competition. The SUPR or SAS branded Hoosier 1600 is not eligible for competition.
In the Modified division, the tire rules will be as follows for 2009:-Hoosier Tires Only: The Hoosier tire compounds of A and/or H are the only legal tire compounds and must be used on the front and rear of the Modified race cars. In the Sportsman division, the tire rules will be as follows for 2009:-If a racer chooses to run a street tire, the following pertains to the sizes on the street tires- 2.55 x 60 x 15 maximum (60 minimum); If a racer chooses to use a racing tire, it is Hoosier Tires only, with the Open Wheel Modified A and H compounds the only tire compounds eligible. In the Street Stock division, the tire rules will be as follows for 2009:
-Street tires only with a 255 X 70 X 15 DOT maximum; No racing tires
allowed.
The 2009 racing season will be previewed with an open practice set at the
˝ mile high-banked Nelson County clay oval on Saturday evening April 11 from
6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. With over
140 new loads of clay added to the racing surface, it will be a prime time for
racers to get their machines dialed in for the upcoming racing
competition.
On Saturday April 18, the 2009 racing season gets underway with the ’09
season opener featuring a full program of weekly racing series action for the
Super Late Model, Modified, Sportsman, and Street Stock divisions.
Defending track champions at Bluegrass Speedway from the 2008 racing
season include Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY in Super Late Models, Jason
Wheatley of Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Roger Cecil of Bardstown, KY in
Sportsman, and Robbie Settles of Bardstown, KY in Sportsman.
