Speedway Presents 11th Annual Spring Sizzler This Saturday April 26
Bardstown,
KY-April 19, 2008- With the 2008 season opener weathered out, Bluegrass Speedway
in Bardstown, KY will now kick off its 2008 racing season this Saturday, April
26, with the 11th Annual Spring Sizzler featuring the O’Reilly
Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model division racing for
$3,000 to win at the David and Anita Ferrell promoted ½ mile clay oval located
just minutes from beautiful and historic Bardstown, KY.
The
O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model division will
sanction the 11th Annual Spring Sizzler event that will feature a
full program of exciting Super Late Model dirt track sports entertainment from
the clay-slinging, full-fendered warriors of the dirt track racing industry.
Joining the Super Late Models for this event will be the Kentucky
Cooperage Modifieds and WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, with the Street Stock division
having the evening off. The Super
Late Model and Sportsman divisions will time trial at this event, while the
Modified division will pill draw for heat race starting assignments.
Also
of note, those that were in attendance at the rained out event on April 19 can
use their general admission tickets or pit passes for this event.
All patrons have to do is present their ticket or pit pass armband and
pay the difference in the price of admission for this event.
Activities
for this April 26 racing event will see everything start one hour earlier than
normal. The pit area will open at
3:00 p.m., while the grandstand area will be open at 4:00 p.m.
The driver’s meeting will take place at 5:00 p.m., with hot laps set to
go at 5:30 p.m., time trials for the Super Late Models and Sportsman will go at
6:00 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at or before 7:00 p.m.
Bluegrass
Speedway will once again be an associate of the Contingency Connection program
for the 2008 race season, which allows those drivers who sign up, at no cost to
the drivers, to be eligible for valuable product discounts and other prizes.
For 2008, the Contingency Connection will again award over $100,000 in
prizes through their program across the country at the 60 oval tracks involved
in this prestigious program.
Defending
track champions at Bluegrass Speedway from 2007 are Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY
in Super Late Models, Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Barry Chesser
of Bloomfield, KY in Sportsman, and Timmy Glazer of Bardstown, KY in Street
Stocks.
