Speedway Returns with 8th Annual Bluegrass Rumble on Saturday July 26
Bardstown,
KY-July 20, 2008- The rumble and roar of racing will return to Bluegrass
Speedway this Saturday evening July 26 at the David and Anita Ferrell promoted
½ mile clay oval located just minutes from beautiful and historic Bardstown, KY
after the track was closed for the 2008 Nelson County Fair.
The 8th Annual Bluegrass Rumble event will be contested this
Saturday July 26.
The
Saturday July 26 racing program will feature the Battle of the Bluegrass
Modified Series visit for the 8th Annual Bluegrass Rumble, paying
$1,500 to win for the Modified division. Also
on the racing card for Saturday July 26 will be a full program of weekly racing
series action for the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models and WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman,
with the Street Stocks having the night off.
The Super Late Model and Modified divisions will time trial for this
event, while the Sportsman division will pill draw for heat race starting
assignments.
Activities
for the racing event on July 26 will see the pit area will open at 4:00 p.m.,
while the grandstand area will be open at 5:00 p.m.
The driver’s meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with hot laps set to
go at 6:30 p.m., time trials for the Super Late Models and Street Stocks will go
at 7:00 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m.
Ticket prices will be $15 in the general admission area for adults,
children ages 6 to 12 will be $8, and children under age 6 will be free.
Admission to the pit area will be $30.
Bluegrass
Speedway will once again be an associate of the Contingency Connection program
for the 2008 race season, which allows those drivers who sign up, at no cost to
the drivers, to be eligible for valuable product discounts and other prizes.
For 2008, the Contingency Connection will award over $150,000 in prizes
through their program across the country at the 60 oval tracks involved in this
prestigious program. Winners for
July 12 included Bryant Woodcock of Glasgow, KY in Super Late Models, Dion
Benningfield of Lebanon, KY in Modifieds, and Terry Greenwell of Bardstown, KY
in Sportsman.
Bluegrass
Speedway last raced on July 12 and feature event winners for that evening
included Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Jason
Wheatley of Loretto, KY in Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, and Willie Edelen of
Bardstown, KY in Street Stocks.

championship points leaders heading into the July 26 racing program are Dustin
Neat of Dunnville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Jason Wheatley of
Loretto, KY in Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, Roger Cecil of Bardstown, KY in
