Bluegrass Speedway Presents 8th Annual Mod Squad Bash on Saturday May 17

 

Bardstown, KY-May 11, 2008- The roar of race engines and the thrills of racing competition returns to Bluegrass Speedway this Saturday evening May 17, as the 8th Annual Mod Squad Bash event will be contested at the David and Anita Ferrell promoted ½ mile clay oval located just minutes from beautiful and historic Bardstown, KY.  The Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series division will sanction this race.

 

The racing program on Saturday May 17 will feature the Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series in a full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 25 lap, $1,500 to win A-Main 8th Annual Mod Squad Bash.  Also in action on the May 17 racing program will be the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models and Street Stocks, with the WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman having the night off.  The Modified and Super Late Model divisions will time trial, with the Street Stock division using the pill draw to determine heat race starting assignments.

 

Activities for the racing event on May 17 will see the pit area will open at 4:00 p.m., while the grandstand area will be open at 5:00 p.m.  The driver’s meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with hot laps set to go at 6:30 p.m., time trials for the Super Late Models and Modifieds will go at 7:00 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m.  Ticket prices will be $15 in the general admission area for adults, children ages 6 to 12 will be $8, children under age 6 will be free.  Admission to the pit area will be $30 for a pit pass.

 

Bluegrass Speedway will once again be an associate of the Contingency Connection program for the 2008 race season, which allows those drivers who sign up, at no cost to the drivers, to be eligible for valuable product discounts and other prizes.  For 2008, the Contingency Connection will award over $150,000 in prizes through their program across the country at the 60 oval tracks involved in this prestigious program. 

 

Bluegrass Speedway last raced on May 10 and feature event winners for that evening included Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Randy tupin of Lebanon, KY in Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, Pat Hagan of New Haven, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Joe David Humphrey of Loretto, KY in Street Stocks.

 

Track championship points leaders heading into the May 17 racing program are Terry English of Benton, KY and Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY tied in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Josh Lucas of Bardstown, KY in Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, Avral Thompson of Loretto, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Joe David Humphrey of Loretto, KY in Street Stocks.
