Speedway Opens 2008 Season Opener This Saturday April 19
Bardstown,
KY-April 13, 2008- Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY will kick off its 2008
racing season this Saturday, April 19, with all divisions in action at the David
and Anita Ferrell promoted ½ mile clay oval located just minutes from beautiful
and historic Bardstown, KY.
The
2008 season opening event will take place this Saturday evening, April 19, and
feature all four weekly divisons in action to kickoff the 14th season
of dirt track sports entertainment at Bluegrass Speedway.
Track championship points will begin on April 19 and every event will be
a track points event throughout the season.
The
44 Auto Mart Super Late Model division will headline the racing program on April
19 with their 25 lap main event. The
Kentucky Cooperage Modified division will race 20 laps in their main, with the
WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman racing 15 laps in feature action.
The Street Stock division will complete the evening’s racing card with
a 12 lap feature event. The Super
Late Model and Modified division will time trial on April 19, while the
Sportsman and Street Stock divisions will pill draw for heat race starting
assignments.
Activities for the April 19 season opening event will see everything get started one hour earlier than normal. The pit area will open at 3:00 p.m., while the grandstand area will be open at 4:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will take place at 5:00 p.m., with hot laps set to go at 5:30 p.m., time trials for the Super Late Models and Modifieds will go at 6:00 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at or before 7:00 p.m. All times are EDT. General admission for adults will be $10, children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, children under age 6 will be free, and a pit pass will be $25.
Bluegrass
Speedway will once again be an associate of the Contingency Connection program
for the 2008 race season, which allows those drivers who sign up, at no cost to
the drivers, to be eligible for valuable product discounts and other prizes.
In 2007, the Contingency Connection awarded over $100,000 in prizes
through their program across the country at the 60 oval tracks involved in this
prestigious program. Details for
the 2008 Contingency Connection will be announced shortly.
Defending
track champions at Bluegrass Speedway from 2007 are Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY
in Super Late Models, Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Barry Chesser
of Bloomfield, KY in Sportsman, and Timmy Glazer of Bardstown, KY in Street
Stocks.
