Speedway Honors “Legends” on Saturday August 30
Bardstown,
KY-August 24, 2008- Bluegrass Speedway will again be in action at the David and
Anita Ferrell promoted ½ mile clay oval located just minutes from beautiful and
historic Bardstown, KY on Saturday August 30 for a very special evening of
events. The track will host it’s
4th Annual Legends Night on August 30, with many retired former
racers, car owners, promoters, and track officials to be on hand, recognized,
and enjoy an evening of fellowship.
The
Saturday August 30 racing program will feature a full program of weekly racing
series competition that will include the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models ($1,000
to win), Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds ($500 to win), WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman
($200 to win), and Street Stocks ($100 to win).
The Super Late Model and Modified divisions will time trial at this
event, while the Sportsman and Street Stock divisions will pill draw for heat
race starting assignments.
Activities
for the racing event on Saturday August 30 will see the pit area will open at
4:00 p.m., while the grandstand area will be open at 5:00 p.m.
The driver’s meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with hot laps set to
go at 6:30 p.m., time trials for the Super Late Models will go at 7:00 p.m.,
with racing set to take the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m.
Ticket prices will be $10 in the general admission area for adults,
children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, and children under age 6 will be free.
Admission to the pit area will be $25.
Bluegrass
Speedway is once again an associate of the Contingency Connection program for
the 2008 race season, which allows those drivers who sign up, at no cost to the
drivers, to be eligible for valuable product discounts and other prizes.
For 2008, the Contingency Connection will award over $150,000 in prizes
through their program across the country at the 60 oval tracks involved in this
prestigious program.

Speedway last raced on August 23 and feature event winners for that evening
included Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Roger
Cecil of Bardstown, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Joe David Humphrey of
Loretto, KY in Street Stocks.
Track
championship points leaders heading into the August 30 racing program are Dustin
Neat of Dunnville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Jason Wheatley of
Loretto, KY in Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, Roger Cecil of Bardstown, KY in
WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Robbie Settles of Bardstown, KY in Street Stocks.
