Bluegrass Speedway Again in Action on Saturday May 23; Street Stocks $300 to win

Bardstown, KY-May 17, 2009- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will present another edition of “Saturday Night Showtime” this Saturday evening May 23 with a full program of weekly racing series competition that will see the Street Stock division race for $300 to win. 

The Saturday May 23 program will highlight the Street Stock division in a 15 lap, $300 to win feature event.  Also in competition on Saturday May 23 will be the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models (25 laps/$1,000 to win), Modifieds (20 laps/$500 to win) and WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman (15 laps/$200 to win).  The Super Late Model and Street Stock divisions will time trial at this event, while the Modified and Sportsman divisions will pill draw for heat race starting assignments. 

Activities for the Saturday May 23 event will have the pit area opening at 4:00 p.m. and the grandstand area opening at 5:00 p.m.  A mandatory drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 6:30 p.m.  Time trials will get underway at 7:00 p.m., while racing will see the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m.  For the Saturday May 23 event, general admission in the grandstand area will be $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 are free.  A pit pass will be $25.    

Bluegrass Speedway is also proud to be one of only 60 tracks in the nation to have the prestigious Contingency Connection national contingency program for our racers in 2009.  The Contingency Connection will have over $50,000 in national contingency postings up for grabs.      

Bluegrass Speedway last raced on Saturday May 16 and feature event winners included Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Randle Sweeney of Clifty, KY in Modifieds, and Roger Cecil of Bardstown, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, while the Street Stocks were off.     

Current track championship points leaders heading into the May 23 racing program are Dustin Linville of Bryantsville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Raywick, KY in Modifieds, Pat Hagan of New Haven, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Johnny Cecil of Bardstown, KY in Street Stocks.
