Speedway Closed for World 100 Sept. 6; Racing Returns on Saturday Sept. 13
Bardstown,
KY-August 31, 2008- Bluegrass Speedway will closed this Saturday September 6 for
the running of the World 100 at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH, but racing
action will return at the David and Anita Ferrell promoted ½ mile clay oval
located just minutes from beautiful and historic Bardstown, KY on Saturday
September 13 as the WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman division will be in action for $400
to win.
The
Saturday September 13 racing program will feature a 20 lap feature event for the
WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman division that will pay $400 to win.
Also on the September 13 racing docket will be a full program of weekly
racing series competition for the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models ($1,000 to
win), Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds ($500 to win), and Street Stocks ($100 to
win). The Super Late Model and
Sportsman divisions will time trial at this event, while the Modified and Street
Stock racers will pill draw for heat race starting assignments.
Activities
for the racing event on Saturday September 13 will see the pit area will open at
4:00 p.m., while the grandstand area will be open at 5:00 p.m.
The driver’s meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with hot laps set to
go at 6:30 p.m., time trials for the Super Late Models will go at 7:00 p.m.,
with racing set to take the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m.
Ticket prices will be $10 in the general admission area for adults,
children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, and children under age 6 will be free.
Admission to the pit area will be $25.
Bluegrass
Speedway is once again an associate of the Contingency Connection program for
the 2008 race season, which allows those drivers who sign up, at no cost to the
drivers, to be eligible for valuable product discounts and other prizes.
For 2008, the Contingency Connection will award over $150,000 in prizes
through their program across the country at the 60 oval tracks involved in this
prestigious program. Program
winners from August 30 include Bryant Woodcock of Glasgow, KY in Super Late
Models, Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Roger Cecil of Bardstown, KY
in Sportsman, and Joe David Humphrey of Loretto, KY in Street Stocks.

Speedway last raced on August 30 and feature event winners for that evening
included Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Jason
Wheatley of Loretto, KY in Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, Roger Cecil of
Bardstown, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Willie Edelen of Bardstown, KY in
Street Stocks.
