Speedway 2009 Championship Celebration Set for November 14
Bardstown,
KY-September 27, 2009- With the racing portion of the 2009 racing season
completed, Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will
officially wrap up the 2009 racing campaign with their 10th Annual
Championship Awards Banquet on Saturday evening November 14 at Samuels Hall,
located next door to Bluegrass Speedway at the Nelson County Fairgrounds.
The
November 14 Championship Awards Banquet will see the top ten point netters in
the four weekly divisions honored for their efforts in 2009, with the top six
drivers in each division receiving money, trophies, and gift certificates, while
those drivers that finished seventh through tenth in each division receiving a
plaque and gift certificates. Also,
the Super Late Model and Modified division rookies of the year and runner-ups
will also receive awards. Along
with this, some drivers that were signed up with the Contingency Connection
program will also receive post-season awards and recognition from various bonus
CC programs.
The
top ten drivers in each division (plus the Super Late Model and Modified rookies
of the year and runner-ups), along with one guest, will be admitted free to the
banquet for the evening. For all
other guests, admission will be $10 for adults, with children ages 12 and under
admitted for $5. The dress of the
awards presentation and dinner is casual and interested parties need to RSVP by
no later than November 12 at (859) 854-6922 or (859) 516-3723 and ask for Anita.
Activities
for the celebration of the best of the best at Bluegrass Speedway for 2009 will
see the Samuels Hall doors open at 5:00 p.m, with dinner being served at 6:00
p.m, followed by the awards presentation and celebration of champions beginning
at 7:15 p.m.
Bluegrass
Speedway has also been proud to be one of only 60 tracks in the nation to have
the prestigious Contingency Connection national contingency program for our
racers in 2009. The Contingency
Connection will have over $50,000
in national contingency postings up for grabs.
Bluegrass
Speedway last raced on September 26 and feature event winners for that event
were Rick Combs of Bethel, OH in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Benji Lee of
Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Logan Whitis of Hustonville, KY in WBRT 1320-AM
Sportsman, and Brad Leake of Bardstown, KY in Street Stocks.
The
2009 Track Champions at Bluegrass Speedway are David Webb of Nicholasville, KY
in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Pat
Hagan of New Haven, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Johnny Cecil of Bardstown,
KY in Street Stocks. Daniel Hatcher
of Campbellsville, KY is the 2009 Norman Copley Super Late Model Rookie of the
Year and Sam Huffer of Elizabethtown, KY is the 2009 Modified division Rookie of
the Year.
