Bluegrass Speedway ’09 Season Finale This Saturday Sept. 26 (Sportsman $400 to win)

 

Bardstown, KY-September 20, 2009- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will present the final edition of “Saturday Night Showtime” for 2009 this Saturday evening September 26, with the WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman being highlighted in a $400 to win event. 

 

The Saturday September 26 racing program will mark the final event of the 2009 racing season at Bluegrass Speedway and will feature a 20 lap, $400 to win feature event for the WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman division.  The 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models will also be in action on September 26 for $1,000 to win in a 25 lap feature event.  Other action on September 26 will include a 20 lap, $500 to win Modified division feature event and a 12 lap, $100 to win feature race for the Street Stock class.  Each division will feature preliminary heat race action, with the Super Late Model and Sportsman divisions taking time trials, while the Modified and Street Stock classes will pill draw for heat race starting assignments. 

 

Activities for the Saturday September 26 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m. and the grandstand area open at 5:00 p.m.  A mandatory drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 6:30 p.m.  Time trials will get underway at 7:00 p.m., while racing will see the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m.  Ticket prices in the grandstand area will be $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 are free.  A pit pass will be $25.

 

Also of note, the 2009 Bluegrass Speedway Championship Awards Banquet will take place on Saturday evening November 14 at Samuels Hall, located next door to the track at the Nelson County Fairgrounds.

 

Bluegrass Speedway is also proud to be one of only 60 tracks in the nation to have the prestigious Contingency Connection national contingency program for our racers in 2009.  The Contingency Connection will have over $50,000 in national contingency postings up for grabs.      

                                   

Bluegrass Speedway last raced on September 19 and feature event winners for that event were Terry English of Benton, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Pat Hagan of New Haven, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Timmy Glazer of Bardstown, KY in Street Stocks.            

 

Current track championship points leaders heading into the September 26 season finale racing program are David Webb of Nicholasville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Pat Hagan of New Haven, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Johnny Cecil of Bardstown, KY in Street Stocks.  All four racers have clinched the 2009 track championship in their respective divisions.
