Bluegrass Speedway Off Until September 19; Regular Show plus $300 to win for Street Stocks

 

Bardstown, KY-September 5, 2009- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will be closed on September 12 for the World 100.  Racing action will return to the ½ mile high-banked Nelson County clay oval on Saturday evening September 19, with the Street Stocks being highlighted in a $300 to win event. 

 

The Saturday September 19 racing program will feature a 15 lap, $300 to win feature event for the Street Stock division.  The 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models will also be in action on September 19 for $1,000 to win in a 25 lap feature event.  Other action on September 19 will include a 20 lap, $500 to win Modified division feature event and a 15 lap, $200 to win feature race for the WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman class.  Each division will feature preliminary heat race action, with the Super Late Model and Street Stock divisions taking time trials, while the Modified and Sportsman classes will pill draw for heat race starting assignments. 

 

Activities for the Saturday September 19 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m. and the grandstand area open at 5:00 p.m.  A mandatory drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 6:30 p.m.  Time trials will get underway at 7:00 p.m., while racing will see the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m.  For the September 19 event, ticket prices in the grandstand area will be $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 are free.  A pit pass will be $25.

 

Bluegrass Speedway is also proud to be one of only 60 tracks in the nation to have the prestigious Contingency Connection national contingency program for our racers in 2009.  The Contingency Connection will have over $50,000 in national contingency postings up for grabs.      

                                  

Bluegrass Speedway last raced on August 29 and feature event winners for that event were Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Robbie Settles of Bardstown, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Shane Lafollette of Hodgenville, KY in Street Stocks, while the Modified division had the night off.           

 

Current track championship points leaders heading into the September 19 racing program are David Webb of Nicholasville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Pat Hagan of New Haven, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Johnny Cecil of Bardstown, KY in Street Stocks.
