Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Bluegrass Speedway for 9th Annual
Bluegrass Classic August 29
Bardstown,
KY-August 23, 2009- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell
will present their biggest event of season and Bluegrass Speedway’s signature
event this Saturday August 29 when the stars and travelers of the Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series invade Bluegrass Speedway for the 9th Annual
Bluegrass Classic, paying $10,000 to win the 60 lap A-main event.
The
Saturday August 29 program will feature the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in
action with a full racing program that will feature practice, PRC Time Trials,
Hawk Brake, AFCO Racing Products, and Tiger Rear End Heats, Mason Racin’ Rebel
Shock Dyno and Wiles Driveshafts B-Mains, and the 60 lap, $10,000 to win 9th
Annual Bluegrass Classic Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series A-Main.
Also in action at Bluegrass Speedway on August 29 will be the WBRT
1320-AM and Street Stocks. Only the
Super Late Models will time trial on the August 29 racing card.
Activities
for the Saturday August 29 event will see all gate areas opening one hour
earlier, with the pit area opening at 3:00 p.m. and the grandstand area opening
at 4:00 p.m. A mandatory drivers
meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 6:30
p.m. Time trials will get underway
at 7:00 p.m., while racing will see the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m.
For the August 29 event, ticket prices in the grandstand area will be $25
for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 are free.
A pit pass will be $35.

of the Bluegrass Classic event include Bob Pierce of Oaklawn, Illinois (2001,
2002), Don O’Neal of Martinsville, Indiana (2003), Shannon Babb of Moweaqua,
Illinois (2004), Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tennessee (2005, 2006, 2007),
and Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tennessee (2008).
Bluegrass
Speedway is also proud to be one of only 60 tracks in the nation to have the
prestigious Contingency Connection national contingency program for our racers
in 2009. The Contingency Connection
will have over $50,000
in national contingency postings up for grabs.
Bluegrass
Speedway last raced on August 22 and feature event winners for that event were
Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Robbie Settles of Bardstown, KY in
WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Shane Lafollette of Hodgenville, KY in Street
Stocks, while the Super Late Models had the night off.
Current
track championship points leaders heading into the August 29 racing program are
David Webb of Nicholasville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Benji Lee of
Loretto, KY in Modifieds, Pat Hagan of New Haven, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman,
and Johnny Cecil of Bardstown, KY in Street Stocks.
