Annual Spring Sizzler Kicks It at Bluegrass Speedway on Saturday April 25
Bardstown,
KY-April 19, 2009- With the ’09 racing season opening event in the record
books, Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will present
their first special event of 2009 as the 12th Annual Spring Sizzler
will take place featuring the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series.
The
Saturday April 25 event will feature the O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass
DirtCar Series Super Late Model division in action as America’s most
competitive regional series will be highlighted in the evening’s 30 lap,
$3,000 to win 12th Annual Spring Sizzler A-Main event.
The Open Wheel Modified and Street Stock divisions will also be in
competition as well, while the WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman division will have the
night off. The Modifieds will race
for $500 to win in their 20 lap main event, while the Street Stocks will race a
12 lap main event, paying $100 to win. The
Super Late Model and Street Stock divisions will time trial at this event, with
the Modified division earning heat race starting assignments via the pill draw.
Activities
for the Saturday April 25 season opening event will see all functions begin one
hour earlier, with the pit area opening at 3:00 p.m. and the grandstand area
opening at 4:00 p.m. A mandatory
drivers meeting will take place at 5:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at
5:30 p.m. Time trials will get
underway at 6:00 p.m., while racing will take the green flag at or before 7:00
p.m. For the Saturday April 25
event, general admission in the grandstand area will be $15 for adults, $8 for
children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 are free.
A pit pass will be $30.
Bluegrass
Speedway is also proud to be one of only 60 tracks in the nation to have the
prestigious Contingency Connection national contingency program for our racers
in 2009. The Contingency Connection
will have over $50,000
in national contingency postings up for grabs.
Bluegrass
Speedway opened its 2009 racing season on Saturday April 18 and feature event
winners included Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super
Late Models, Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN in Modifieds, Pat Hagan of New Haven, KY
in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Mike Cozzin, Jr. of Borden, IN in Street Stocks.
These four drivers are also the current track championship points leaders
in their respective divisions.
