Bluegrass Speedway 17th Annual Season Opener Goes on April 16

Bardstown, KY-April 10, 2011- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell are set to present the 17th Annual Season Opener at the ½ mile high-banked Nelson County clay oval this Saturday evening April 16 with a full racing program for all divisions. 

The season opener on April 16 will feature the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models in a 25 lap, $1,000 to win feature event.  The UMP Modifieds will race for $500 to win in a 20 lap feature event.  The UMP Sportsman will compete for 15 laps for $200 to win, while the UMP Street Stocks will race for $100 to win in a 12 lap main event.  For the April 16 event, the Super Late Models and UMP Sportsman will time trial, while the UMP Modifieds and UMP Street Stocks will pill draw for heat race starting assignments.

Activities at Bluegrass Speedway for the 2011 season opening event will see all times be one hour earlier.  The pit area will open at 3:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 4:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will take place at 5:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 5:30 p.m.  Time trials will get underway at 6:00 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at or before 7:00 p.m.  Ticket prices for the April 16 event in the general admission area will be $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, with children age 5 and under free.  A pit pass will be $25.
