Cornett Racing Engines to Sponsor 11^th Annual Bluegrass Classic at Bluegrass Speedway

Bardstown, KY-April 1, 2011- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell are pleased to announce that Cornett “Thunder and Lightning” Racing Engines of Somerset, KY will be the sponsor of the track’s 11^th Annual Bluegrass Classic. The event will take place on Saturday August 27 and will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

“We are very excited to have Cornett Racing Engines come on board as the sponsor of the Bluegrass Classic event”, stated Bluegrass Speedway co-promoter David Ferrell. “The Cornett family has been involved in the racing community not only in Kentucky, but across the country for so many years and it is great to have them involved in an event in their home state”, added Ferrell.

Mr. I.J. “Red” Cornett established the business in 1948, making the 2011 race season the 63^rd year of operation in the racing industry. Mr. Jack Cornett has been working full-time at Cornett Racing Engines building Dirt Late Model race engines since 1976 and many of the top competitors in the Dirt Late Model racing industry have chose Cornett Racing Engines to power their race cars to victory lane. Cornett Racing Engines offers both Ford (Thunder) and Chevy (Lightning) brands of racing engines and specialize in all types of racing equipment and supplies.

Cornett “Thunder and Lightning” Racing Engines has also won the coveted Engine Builder of the Year awards with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and World of Outlaws Late Model Series in 2008 and 2009, and again won the award in the most recently completed 2010 race campaign.
