NASRA Spring Sizzler Cancelled at Bluegrass; Off May 1; WoO Late Models on May 8

 

Bardstown, KY-April 24, 2010- With rain having already fell in the area and a forecast for more rain and possible severe weather around race time, Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell have decided to cancel the 13th Annual Spring Sizzler scheduled for Saturday April 24 at Bluegrass Speedway.

 

The event will go down as a cancellation on the track’s calendar for the 2010 racing season and the event will not be made up during the 2010 race season.

 

Bluegrass Speedway will be closed as it always is on the first Saturday of May, so there will be rumble of race engines at Bluegrass Speedway on Saturday May 1 as the track will be closed. 

 

The next scheduled event at Bluegrass Speedway will take place on Saturday May 8 as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will make its first ever appearance at the ½ mile high-banked Nelson County clay oval for the 8th Annual My Old Kentucky Home Shootout, which will be a 50 lap main event that will pay the winner $10,000 for their efforts.  Joining the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on Saturday May 8 will be the WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman and UMP Street Stocks, while the UMP Modifieds will have the night off.

 

Activities will get underway with the pit area opening at 3:00 p.m., while the general admission area opening at 4:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will go at 6:00 p.m., with practice at 6:30 p.m., time trials at 7:00 p.m., with racing at or before 8:00 p.m.  Adult general admission will be $25, children ages 6 to 12 will be $10, children under age 6 will be free, and a pit pass will be $35.
