  Bluegrass Speedway Has American Sprint Car Tour in Action on May 22

  Bardstown, KY-May 16, 2010- Following Saturday evening’s rainout, Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will again present racing action this Saturday May 22 as the American Sprint Car Tour visits the ½ mile, high-banked Nelson County clay oval as Sprint Cars return to Bluegrass Speedway for the first time since 2003.     

  On Saturday May 22, the American Sprint Car Tour will be in action for a full program of warm-ups, practice, qualifying heats, dash, B-Mains, and a 20 lap, $1,200 to win A-Main event.  Joining the ASCT on May 22 will be the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, racing for $1,000 to win.  Also on May 22 will be a special event for the UMP Street Stock division, paying $300 to the winner.  The UMP Modified and WBRT 1320-AM UMP Sportsman divisions will have the evening off.  The Super Late Models and UMP Street Stocks will time trial at the event, while the Sprint Cars will pill draw for heat race starting assignment.     

  Activities for the May 22 racing program will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area opening at 5:00 p.m.  A mandatory drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m.  Sprint Car warm-ups and Practice will begin at 6:30 p.m., with time trials at 7:00 p.m., followed green flag race action at or before 8:00 p.m.  All times are EDT.  Ticket prices on May 22 will be $15 for adults, $8 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 free in the general admission area.  A pit pass will cost $30.

  Of note to those race fans and race teams in attendance on May 15 when the racing program was cancelled due to inclement weather, your tickets and pit pass arm bands are your rainchecks and can be used this Saturday May 22 or when the American Modified Series 10th Annual Mod Squad takes place on the rescheduled date of Saturday June 26.

  Bluegrass Speedway last raced on May 8 and feature event winners included Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Barry Chesser of Bloomfield, KY in WBRT 1320-AM UMP Sportsman, and Shane Lafollette of Hodgenville, KY in UMP Street Stocks, while UMP Modifieds were off.
