American Modified Series Rained Out at Bluegrass Speedway; Rescheduled for
June 26
Bardstown, KY-May 15, 2010- After being rained out only one time in 2009,
Bluegrass Speedway has fell victim to Mother Nature now twice in the 2010
racing season as showers moved over the speedway at the conclusion of 44 Auto
Mart Super Late Model practice and just as practice was about to begin for the
American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner.
The persistent rain showers forced track promoters David and Anita Ferrell and
American Modified Series officials to cancel the 10th Annual Mod
Squad Bash scheduled for this evening. The event has been rescheduled
and will take place on Saturday June 26 as part of the Topless Terror event
for Super Late Models.
A total of 37 UMP Modifieds, 16 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, and 7 WBRT
1320-AM UMP Sportsman were signed in when the rain showers came forcing
postponement of the race program. All racers that were signed in for
action will receive show-up points.
Rain checks were issued
and may be used on Saturday May 22 when the American Sprint Car Tour makes its
first ever visit to Bluegrass Speedway or can be used on the rescheduled date
for the event, which is now June 26.
The next event at Bluegrass Speedway takes place on Saturday May 22 as the
American Sprint Car Tour brings Sprint Car racing back to Bluegrass Speedway
for the first time since 2003. Joining the ASCT on Saturday May 22 will
be the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, racing for $1,000 to win, along with a
special $300 to win event for the UMP Street Stock division, while UMP
Modifieds and WBRT 1320-AM UMP Sportsman have the night off.
Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road off of exit 21 of the
Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway, just outside of beautiful and
historic Bardstown, KY. David and Anita Ferrell are the track promoters
and present dirt track sports entertainment on Saturday evening from mid-April
through September. For more information about Bluegrass Speedway, visit
the track’s webpage at www.bluegrass-speedway.com
